A filming permit application must be completed for each location.

If this is a municipal park, picnic area, sports field, or arena, submit the Facility Permit Request Form, and initialed Terms and Conditions.

Fill out the following sections as applicable:

Parking

Sidewalk and Street Filming

All filming with equipment or personnel positioned on a road, sidewalk, or boulevard requires a submitted Street Work Permit Application, and traffic control map indicating the location of equipment, and traffic or pedestrian interruptions.

Street Signs and Public Infrastructure

For public property excavation, on-site locates are required, contact Ontario One Call at 1-800-400-2255. Call 3-1-1 for water, wastewater, and stormwater checks. Fees may vary and will be billed on a cost-recovery basis.

Intermittent Traffic Stoppages (ITS) and Road/Lane Closures

Submit a traffic control plan map, Street Work Permit Application, Road Closure Application, and intended traffic control method; Paid Duty Officers, Book 7 etc., with a confirmation of PDO, or certification credentials for Book 7 crew.

SPFX, Firearms, and Pyrotechnics

Submit a map and the Chemical Substance/ Product Use Request, Blasting Permit, or Burn Permit as applicable.

Commercial Drones and Aerial Photography

Submit required items: Transport Canada Certificate, NAV Canada Authorization, Flight Plan, Compliant Insurance, and Waiver of Subrogation (see North Bay Film & Television Production Guidelines for details). The Economic Development Department will facilitate connection to the North Bay Jack Garland Airport Corporation which will provide final approval.

Notification Letters and Signature

Productions must attached the North Bay Code of Conduct for Cast and Crew to the back of all notification letters. Productions are welcome to use our Notifcation Letter Template to craft notification letter, and are encouraged to use our Signature Sheet when signatures are required.
